Dear Mommy…
Dear Mommy,
Today is Mother’s Day and I wanted to make it about you. Because the truth is, you deserve to be celebrated every day.
I know I don’t say it enough, but I am beyond proud to call you my mother. I am so grateful for everything you have done for me and my siblings, for every sacrifice you made, every lesson you taught, and every prayer you sent up on our behalf. I learned so much just by watching you—the way you carried yourself, the way you loved us, and the way you pushed through even when life tried to knock you down.
From you, I learned to love my children unconditionally. I learned that no matter how hard life gets, you keep going. I know it’s not always easy dealing with us now that we’re grown, each with our own opinions, but you do it with grace—and you do it well. We may not always say it, but we love you deeply. We may not always show it, but we appreciate you more than words can ever express.
I watched you struggle, but you never gave up. I saw you broken, yet you still picked up the pieces because you knew we were watching. I witnessed your laughter and your tears, your strength in prayer, and your faith in the face of challenges. Through it all, you never stopped loving, never stopped giving, and never stopped showing up for us.
Mommy, I want you to know that I see you. I see the woman who gave her best even when she felt it wasn’t enough. But to me, it was more than enough. You were more than enough.
Thank you, Mom. Thank you for your love, your lessons, and your unwavering strength. Thank you for being exactly who you are. I love you with all my heart.
XOXO Kaye,
